Dec. 6, Senior Portfolio and Art Investigation students volunteer their talents and time to help make SMYL (Seneca Mentoring Youth) And Impact’s Christmas Party a little more festive by doing art activities with it’s members (mentors & mentees). They made Christmas tree ornaments and paper mugs that were filled with hot chocolate and cane canes. Both crafts made a great Christmas gift that they could give to others this holiday season. Logan Gardner's art work that was chosen to represent our House District in 2017 Ohio House of Representatives Student Art Exhibition in Columbus. His project will be display in the Vern Riffe Center for the Government from January through December 2017--One year. He will be recognized at the official award reception on March 4 in Columbus.
About the show: "The Ohio Art Education Association joined with the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Arts Council to mount a student exhibition representing all 99 House Districts in the State of Ohio. The exhibition recognizes the talents, creativity, and innovation of students who receive high quality arts education instruction as part of their academic experience in school. It represents art by some of Ohio’s finest high school artists."- Which is Logan. Logan is a very talented, young, and respectful individual. Proud that others can enjoy his work! Will be in the Cameo Show this April. I am proud of each of the students in Senior Portfolio giving their personal best in representing Tiffin Columbian High School. The students showed real dedication, ownership, and professionalism in their art work. Christian, a state champ, has a competitive drive which comes through in his art. I remember seeing Poverty, the winning piece a linoleum block print come out of the etching press. I was instantly impressed with the work. The many incredible works of art I saw at the judging of The Ohio Governor's Youth Art show was of professional quality and I am proud to count Christian and his work amongst the winners.
My first and 2015-16 Senior Portfolio/ Art Investigation Tiffin University art show is completed & under my belt. Hope to continue to see students create their future masterpieces to show their many and diverse art talents. |
